The Know Your Regulator Engine (KYR)
Ensure your on-line content is legal everywhere
The KYR engine takes regulatory compliance to a new level and frees content developers from the constraints of achieving compliance with legal regulation. Uniquely, compliance is achieved by changing the basis of charging and in-game/world interactions - without the need for changes to content itself!
Tariffs and charges can be varied, for example, to prohibit the winning of prizes in locations where it is not allowed and facilitating it in places where it is, so that you can be confident that you are legal everywhere.
The result is remarkable:
- Tariffs and charges are managed through a set of rules which are invoked according to the location of the player
- Players operating in locations with different regulatory rules can play together (in most circumstances)
The KYR tm engine offers:
- Extreme flexibility. For example, in the same session one player may win a monetary prize, another may win points which can be used to buy game/world assets and a third may play for kudos alone, winning points which are not useful in any other way!
- Marketing departments can easily launch new tariffs and promotions by changing the basis on which customers are charged
- Platform operators can react quickly and effectively to change in regulation and reporting requirements with little or no development effort
The KYR tm interface
A simple administration interface allows rules and their geographic application to be easily defined, so that users are only presented with tariff choices which are correct for them. We use the very latest information on IP addresses as a part of this process - KYR’s database of 1.4 billion IP addresses is updated every week.
The KYR service is integrated with Media and Game Technologies’ micro-payments engine ZIN-ix and My Account Manager so that only regulatory compliant financial transactions can take place.
- A full audit trail, with every transaction logged in ZIN-ix and My Account Manager
- An easy to change interface for redefining rules and reporting requirements
- Three stage process for setting up regulatory rules
